profile: 7 min in heaven

They get paired up thanks to spin the coke. Mariah is all excited because she wants to get some tonight. Tommy doesn’t want to do this because he already has a girlfriend.

Mariah: hey

Tommy: hello

Mariah: let’s do this (jumps on him)

Tommy: whoa (pushes her away) could I at least get your name?

Mariah: yeah, Mariah (jumps on him again)

Tommy: (pushes her away) yeah I can’t do this, I’ve got a girlfriend

Mariah: its ok, we won’t tell her, she doesn’t have to know (tries to jump on him again)

Tommy: no it’s not ok (pushes her off) I have values and my girlfriend is realy important to me

Mariah: (male deep voice comes out) umm bitch no, I’m doing you whether you like it or not. And if…

Tommy: where did that voice come from?

Mariah: (lifts skirt quickly) yeah I’m a guy. But don’t worry baby, I still find you sexy.

Tommy: I don’t want sex from you. I’d rather be in a loving relationship, which I am with a girl who’s not…who’s not male.

Mariah: I cannot deal with relationships. I just want it quick and dirty. So come here baby.

Tommy: look, I don’t want to be making out with a drunk bitch like you, you’ve seriously got some issues (starts banging on the door trying to get out) come on guys I’ve had enough of this, this girl…guy is phyico.

Mariah: you know what? I’ve had enough of this. I don’t need you. I can get someone else with my sexy ass looks

Tommy: (door finally opens) no one is stopping you, our seven minutes is up. I hope I never meet another skanky whore like you again.

(both leave closet going in separate directions)

“But the teacher’s tales of the saints worked on me> like a potion. The teacher had me figured wrong-she thought> I was a godless boy with a devil in me, because of the> cigarettes and my truancy. But if the devil had claimed a> hold on my soul, and I was sure he had, he had done so> despite my best intentions; for even my truancy was born out> of my battle with him, of a hard choice between the lesser> of evils.”> > Tough words for a six year old don’t you think? This book> was written in a style that many have tried and failed. It> constantly switched from adult wisdom to childlike> innocence. One of the main themes laces through the novel is> religion. Many people, including myself, feel confusion> between culture and religion. Religion is a set of rules to> live by that were supposedly sent down by some sort of> higher being. I like to think I am a child of future society> in which most if not all stop believing in religion. This is> certainly a topic that is being debated in Toronto today> with the idea for these controversial ads that question god> to be put on the TTC. They claim 1 in 4 don’t believe in> god already so clearly we are seeing a trend. Some may think> we are becoming more educated now and so we don’t> blatantly fallow like zombies, perhaps this is showing> evolution in the form of us becoming critical thinkers.> Others feel we are losing or faith and values but why should> we have faith in something? Personality I think we all just> fallow everyone else they tell me this is what I am suppose> to believe so I will. Isn’t that how things like the> holocaust, and other genocides happened? People simply> believing what they are told by ways of propaganda, which> brainwash you to believe what they want. Religion does have> its place in society though it’s where most people learn> their morals. And I do believe everyone has morals of their> own that they fallow and that’s a good thing because it> makes them feel good about their lives if they live by them.> Religion was created to answer peoples’ life’s> questions; we are curious by nature and simply could not get> on with our lives if all we spend time thinking about is> what happeneds after death. It was created because the> majority of the population enjoys living their simple lives> only needing simple answers to calm their worries.
